If we’re giving thanks this month, we have to start with Miami.
The city that never asked for a comedy scene but got one anyway. When we started, there were no clubs, no roadmap, and no guarantee anyone would show up. Just locals with stories, bars that were down to take a chance, and a crowd that wanted to feel something real between the shots and the sunshine.
Over time, the city’s adventurous types went out and discovered what Miami Comedy was building on the low and those wild Miami nights started sounding a lot like setups. What came out of it was something alive, a comedy scene built by people who never wanted to be boring.
So this week, we’re celebrating the city that raised our sense of humor, one show at a time.
