And to add to the momentum building this weekend; just for the readers of our site… we managed to get a special interview for you to get acquainted with headliner Paul Virzi.

As a Nationally touring comic, do you consider Miami to be a rare place to do appearances? Why or why not.

I do consider Miami a rare place to perform.  The simply reason is because there is not many comedy venues there.  Also, I feel like there are only a few people who care about the scene out there.  When people think Miami, they think beach and partying.  Not comedy.  That needs to change.  People like Mike and Manny are trying to change that.

Being from Jersey and living in the Suburbs of NYC, how do you think your stage presence comes off in a particular place like Miami?

The funniest thing is that I’m not from NJ.  Bill Burr just says that because he knows I hate it.  Hilarious!  I think when people in Miami see me on stage they will see the same presence anyone anywhere in the country sees.  I am who I am.  I have fun, tell jokes, tell stories and just perform.  The crowd can take it anyway they want to.  I’m gonna do what I do regardless.

What do you mostly base your comedy on?

My comedy is mainly based on my life and how I see life.  I talk about the world how I see it and whats going on in my life.  Whatever might be happening I can touch on.  I never consider myself “A Type”.  I just talk about anything.

What’s your favorite joke and from whom? Why do you find it funny?

This one is tough.  There are so many funny jokes.  I honestly can’t say.  I mean Eddie Murphey’s Rocky bit on raw was great.  Just to see a young African American dude NAIL how italians are was great.  Patrice O’Neal’s bit about the search for the football players lost at sea.  Guys like Sabastian Maniscalco, Burr also have great ones.

What advice do you have for people taking their romantic dates to your comedy show this weekend?

They will hear things that they can relate to and also things maybe they don’t wanna hear or admit.  Either way they will have fun.

Thanks Paul! Short and sweet and full of honesty! Just like a good joke. Look forward to seeing you perform.
